Triptych I: Found Objects

TriptychThis piece was quite a challenge to complete for a plethora of reasons, the most important of which being the fact that my main (and only) camera lens at the time broke after the first picture was taking. This led to a lot of trial and error to try and get a somewhat acceptable result from the situation. This was also the reason for me opting to go with a monochrome sequence, as there was a good amount of colour distortion from the lens. While I feel like overall I managed to get some good images,  this experience has taught me to be more aware of where I leave my camera as such mistakes are very expensive. I feel as though the triptych works well due to the differing scales of each item in reality, which allows the sequence to have a surrealist undertone to it. This allows it to be more interesting to look at visually as even the smallest item is now on an equal viewing priority as the large, full size rugby ball. The clean, white background also completely isolates the items from any form of context, allowing the viewer to make their own assumptions from observing the piece.
