This series of images was for the first part of the portraiture brief: Familiar Subjects. I took the opportunity to get all these images in one of our 2-hour photography workshop. I feel like this was a good decision as it was a very laid-back, relaxed atmosphere and it was easier to experiment on different types of shooting. I found it quite easy to take some good shots as everyone was comfortable with each other. I feel like this was a good starting point for photographing strangers as I did not have any experience taking portraits prior to this. While experimenting during post production, I found that adding a bit of film grain to the images made them seem warmer and more visually appealing in my opinion.
